The Queen of Peace Chapter of the Dominican Laity will be hosting a Day of the Laity on Saturday, June 13th, 2015 in O’Brien Hall of St. Louis Bertrand Church, 1104 South Sixth Street, from 9am-3pm.

This day of prayer, reflection, and community is to explore the calling of lay Catholics to proclaim the Gospel, and in particular during the Year of Consecrated Life, the Religious Laity.  The schedule is below.

Schedule for June 13, 2015:

9am: Registration, coffee and donuts in O’Brien Hall (the third floor of the Pasish Center)

9:30-10am: Welcome and introductions, Dcn. Franco Cottrell, OP and Fr. Tony Breen, OP

10-10:30am: Presentation by Dcn. Harry Prestwood, OFS

10:45am-12noon: Holy Hour in the Main Church, confessions will be available

11:40am: Recitation of the Rosary

12 noon: Mass (Memorial of St. Anthony of Padua)

12:30-1:15pm: Lunch in O’Brien Hall (Bring a bag lunch; drinks will be provided)

1:15-2:45pm: Guided discussion: “New Evangelization Efforts of the Religious Laity: Challenges and Success Stories” led by Dr. Brandon Field, OP

3pm: Recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and conclusion.
